Accurate whole-rock geochemistry analysis by combined ICP-OES and LA-ICP-MS instruments

ICP-OES and LA-ICP-MS instruments routinely used to assess the geochemical properties of various natural synthetic materials. In this contribution, analytical routines method development procedures facilities installed at İstanbul University-Cerrahpaşa Geological Engineering Department, Geochronology Geochemistry Laboratory have been evaluated using well-known international rock standards. Sample preparation techniques, development, experimental setup measurement conditions for both were discussed specific analyze results NIST SRM 614, BCR-2, AGV-2, BCR-2G AGV-2G evaluated. Flux-free USGS glass standards produced by in-house techniques flux-bearing glasses fusion sample with mixture ultra-pure lithium-tetraborate, lithium metaborate lithiumbromide compared reference values in literature.
